About the book
This book intends to explore the advances in fatigue testing and modelling. Over the past years, various models have been proposed and utilised to predict the fatigue performance in metals and non-metals. Some of these models proved to be accurate whereas others failed to predict the fatigue performance. The strength of any predictive tool depends on the employment of physically-meaningful parameters that replicates the real-life conditions. This has led to the development of finite element (FE) tools to simulate the physical testing of components.
The book aims to explore such predictive models, FE modelling tools as well as the advances in the testing capabilities of fatigue under various conditions. The book is aimed at metals and non-metals which could also include composites and hybrid materials.
