About the book

Plasma science and technology (PST) provides the multidiscipline investigating fundamental transport behaviors, interaction physics and reaction chemistry of partially ionized gases and their application to technologies ranging from plasma refrigeration, lighting sources, lasers and sensors to materials processing, agriculture and food processing, biotechnology, healthcare, microelectronics fabrication/semiconductor industries, and space and environmental sciences.

This book will discuss the introductory and research contents on PST trained by different world-wide universities and institutes. Nowadays, developments in industrial fabrication technology and desires on performance and feature in advanced manufacturing processes have become complex and incorporated innovation technology. This book will give a wide and planned impact on national and economic security, as well as on providing societal advantage. PST quantifies the information how modern semiconductor devices and thin film solar cell technologies can be fabricated through plasma processes and PST to be economically viable. PST introduces the manufacturing of bioengineering devices that depend on plasma processes to harden artificial joints and plan biocompatible surfaces on tissue scaffolding. This will probe the fundamental mechanisms in interplanetary that are powered by plasma thrusters. In addition, the chapters will provide the fundamentals and applications and other several new topics related to plasma based energy devices and low temperature plasma for complex systems.

The book will identify the key challenges including basic interactions of plasma with organic materials, living tissues, plasmas that contain chaotic and stochastic processes, very high density plasma and microplasmas, high temperature and pressure plasmas. Advancement in life sciences is gradually more sourced by deployment of discrete technologies and information and plasma technology becomes a key advancement in modern medicine and health care.

Dr. Aamir Shahzad has been working as an Associate Professor (Tenured) in the department of Physics, GC University Faisalabad (GCUF) since July 2019. He completed his Post Doctorate and PhD from Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU), P. R. China. Dr. Shahzad still works with Prof. Maogang HE (Collaborator), XJTU, P. R. China and his research is focused on plasma science and technology. Dr. Shahzad has been involved in research on the transport properties of complex systems (cold/dusty plasmas and biological) using novel Molecular Dynamics (MD) Simulation techniques since 2009. He completed the International research grant (nearly more than 1.0 million) from the Postdoctoral Science Foundation, P.R. China, and has completed two applied research grants during his PhD studies in collaboration with China. Dr. Shahzad has proposed novel methods to explore results of Dusty Plasmas (Industrial Plasmas) which show his aptitude to comprehend and grip computational physics, modeling and molecular simulations, and fluid materials together with experimental materials understanding. In addition, Dr. Shahzad has presented papers in several international academic conferences, including Greece (Thessaloniki), USA (Boulder, Colorado) P.R. China (Xi’an), Korea (Jeju), and Turkey.
