Dr. Zancada-Menéndez has collaborated with the University of Padua(Italy), Harvard University(USA), Vanderbilt University (USA) and is an Affiliated Member of the Spanish Society of Neurology in the Neuropsychology section.

About the book

The study of adolescent health and drug consumption is one of the main issues recognized worldwide. This book invites multidisciplinary researchers interested in adolescent health, risk behavior, and substance use, especially alcohol, to submit their work based on different methodologies, including qualitative studies or quantitative studies, study protocols and results of randomized trials, and systematic or scoping reviews. The objective of these contributions should be to study the biological, social, and environmental other risk factors related to substance abuse in adolescents to develop behavioral interventions that improve their prognosis and avoid an addiction during adulthood. On the other hand, alcohol abuse in this period of life is often related to other psychological disorders that should be also considered.

Finally, this book intends to provide insight into studies or reviews about brain-related changes related to alcohol abuse. Patricia Sampedro-Piquero

Autonomous University of Madrid

Ms. Patricia Sampedro holds a degree and a doctorate in Psychology and currently works as a PhD Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Psychology at the Autonomous University of Madrid. Throughout these years, she has developed a productive line of research focused on cognitive deficits related to substance abuse and the neurobiology underlying the beneficial effects of behavioral treatments, such as and aerobic exercise, in this disorder. Because of her research training, this line of research has been performed in both preclinical and clinical models. In turn, this has resulted in 32 JCR-indexed publications, 4 book chapters, as well as attendance to more than 30 national and international congresses. Finally, she has participated and coordinated several scientific dissemination activities such as the Science Week, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science or the Night of the Researchers. Last year, she has received the International young investigator award funded by Medicines journal.

As an Author Service Manager, my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors.
