Román D. Moreno Fernández is Associate Professor at the UFV. He currently has 14 publications in high impact JCR scientific journals (10 Q1 and 4 Q2) in the area of neurosciences, including an article in Translational Psychiatry (IF: 6.222) of the Nature publishing group in international collaboration (USA), and a publication in Disease Models & Mechanisms, being recognized with an interview selected as the first author and published on the website of the journal. He has made two international stays at the Brain Mind Institute (BMI, Lausanne, Switzerland) with Carmen Sandi, a recognized eminence in the field of stress study and promoter of the virtual reality technique for the project (IMVEST, 2021). He also holds a patent with national protection and more than 20 communications in international congresses, with a special mention award for oral communication presented in English in the area of Psychobiology. (II ICPB, 2017). In addition, he has participated in the elaboration, development, and justification of 5 competitive projects. He also collaborates as editor and reviewer in several journals (Current Neuropharmacology; International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health; Clinical Medicine; Nutrients) and has been involved in the review of international projects (Current Neuropharmacology; International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health; Nutrients). participated in the review of international projects (Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico), as well as in dissemination activities (European (European Researchers' Night) and transfer activities (European Forum Transfer). His area of specialization is stress and the neurobiological mechanisms associated with depression, anxiety, and more recently addictions to substances such as cocaine or alcohol. Currently, he has a project as principal investigator on alcohol and food binge behaviors in adolescents and the role of stress in this problem.
