About the book

The book “Cell Interaction - Regulation of Immune Responses, Disease Development and Management Strategies” focuses on various immunological interactions that drive development of immunological responses to microbial infections. Key features will include the immune cell interactions at different anatomical locations and importance of immune cell interaction in determining an infection outcome. The book will cover the recent strategies to block the immune interactions that contribute for the pathological consequences. Further, it aims to address the recent technological and molecular advances in understanding these cellular interactions. It will also provide an overview on recent advances in understanding the cellular interactions for designing better therapeutic options, vaccines and adjuvants with minimal adverse or off-target effects as seen with conventional chemotherapeutics.

This book intends to provide a comprehensive overview of the different cellular interactions at molecular level that helps in better understanding disease pathogenesis. It will be significant for scientists and clinicians who intend to have an insight into the immunological interactions for understanding signaling pathways, disease intervention and immunotherapeutics.

Publishing process

Dr. Bhawana Singh is currently working as scientist in Department of Medicine, Institute of Medical Sciences,Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (India). She has a broad background in cellular and molecular immunology in parasitic disease with significant epidemiological and field experience of working with human subjects. She has obtained her Ph.D from Department of Medicine, Institute of Medical Sciences,Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi (India), working on immuno-genetic aspects of visceral leishmaniasis. During her Ph.D., she has received training at QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute, Brisbane, Australia and presented her work on international platform. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed international journals and she has been working with scientists from different parts of world including Australia, USA and Sweden. She has post-doctoral experience from Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University, Columbus, USA. At Wexner Medical Center, she was working on host-directed immunotherapy for relieving the immunosuppression during diseases, using immunomodulators.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Dolores Kuzelj

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
