About the book

At present, the social production is undergoing profound changes, and the high degree of automation, digitalization and intelligence make the global manufacturing industry enter a new development stage. With the continuous development of new generation of information technologies such as big data, Internet of things, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, etc., the production and operation mode of enterprises is changing and transforming. The connotation and extension of quality control have undergone significant changes, presenting the quality control system, quality control tools and methods, and quality data, etc. with a new look. Facing the global market driven by individualized demand, to maintain or gain competitive advantage, the enterprises under the networked manufacturing mode must continuously improve the quality of products and services, shorten the design cycle, reduce costs and enhance efficiency. Based on the modern quality management concepts, the quality management, integrated with life cycle quality characteristics of the product, should be studied as an organic whole with enterprise operation mode.

This book intends to provide the reader with a comprehensive overview of the current state-of-the-art in quality control system, methods and enabling tools, data quality control and other important fields related to quality control in intelligent manufacturing.

Potential authors submit chapter proposals ready for review by the academic editor and our publishing review team.

Approved chapters written in full and submitted

Deadline for full chapters: August 30th 2020

Once approved by the academic editor and publishing review team, chapters are written and submitted according to pre-agreed parameters

Full chapters peer reviewed

Review results due: November 18th 2020

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: January 17th 2021

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Tongji University

Professor Dr. Pengzhong Li is now Assistant Director of Sino-German School of Postgraduate Studies (CDHK) of Tongji University. He received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tongji University in 2004. From 1995 to 2001, he has worked as Manager of Business Department and Warehousing Management Department in Guilin Daewoo Bus Co., LTD. He is a Director of Intelligent Manufacturing and Services Branch of China Creative Studies Institute and Director of East China Branch of National College Institute of Manufacturing Automation. His research interests are intelligent manufacturing system and manufacturing process quality control technology. He has hosted and participated in several major national science and technology projects, natural science fund projects and enterprise consultation projects. He has rich practical experience, long-term and stable cooperation, and exchanges with manufacturing enterprises and research institutes in the field of industrial automation. At present, he is committed to research on man-machine coordination in the application of Artificial Intelligence.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Jasna Bozic

As an Author Service Manager, my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
