About the book
The inflammatory immune response is a key defense mechanism generated to protect the host from foreign pathogens, antigens, allergens, and xenobiotics. However, the inflammatory immune response dysregulation and prolongation proves detrimental to the host during acute infection and trauma. Also, the chronic persistence of the inflammatory immune response leads to the development of cancer and autoimmune diseases. Hence, the study of inflammation and the inflammatory process in detail becomes essential to decrease the inflammation-induced mortality and the organ-loss along with defeating cancer and autoimmune diseases. However, the process of inflammation has been known before the Hippocrates to ancient Indian Ayurvedic physicians, dating back to 1500BCE and 600 BCE. The continuous advancement in the field has opened several new avenues in inflammation research and inflammatory diseases. Lots of advancement in the field has been made with development in the field of immunology, epigenetics, and genetics.
This book intends to provide the readers with advanced information in different aspects (immunological, genetic, epigenetic, and immunometabolic reprogramming) of inflammation and inflammatory diseases.
