About the book

The book will gather new ideas and new findings with respect to forest management and, importantly, sustainable management of both natural forest and plantations across the world under the context of global change.

Forest ecosystems are important components impacting global environment and playing vital role in mitigation of global climate change. Any efforts taken in forest management will profoundly impact the global changing environment. It is important to gather latest findings and advanced ideas in this area and further stimulate activities in combating degrading forest and global climate, which have been and will be negatively impact sustainable development of both natural ecosystems and human society.

From this aspect, we are trying to present importance of sustainable natural forest and plantation management in combating global change, mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions, conservation of soil nutrients, restoration of degrading forest, and maintenance of ecosystem stability. The synthesis of all these aspects related to sustainable forest management will provide thorough understanding of how to and why to sustainably manage both forest and plantation ecosystems on the earth.
