About the book

At present, there is a tremendously growing quantity of data involving both video and image successions of dissimilar spatial, spectral and temporal resolutions, observe continuously the earth's surface. In these regards, immense streams of remote sensing earth observation data are being steadily gathered from diverse pioneering optical and radar sensors; terrestrial platforms; aerial; on-board satellites. In this understanding, novel computer vision and machine learning algorithms are necessitated regarding professionally dissecting to entirely utilize these datasets and timely present decisive knowledge for abundant, environmental, safety and security; and engineering applications. Consequently, effective conclusions can turn into a quick action for serving the varieties of the public.

This book aims at bridging between the latest advances and trends in computer vision, machine learning algorithms and remote sensing technology and applications. Its scope seek out concerted contributions from academia and industrial experts in the areas of remote sensing; computer vision, and remote sensing, signal processing, machine learning, and data science, and geoscience.

Once approved by the academic editor and publishing review team, chapters are written and submitted according to pre-agreed parameters

Full chapters peer reviewed

Review results due: August 5th 2021

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: October 4th 2021

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Prof.Dr. Maged Marghany, recently, ranked among the top two percent scientists in a global list compiled by the prestigious Stanford University. Prof.Dr. Maged Marghany is currently a Professor at the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Syiah Kuala Darussalam, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. He is the author of 5 titles including Advanced Remote Sensing Technology for Tsunami Modelling and Forecasting which is published by Routledge Taylor and Francis Group, CRC and Synthetic Aperture Radar Imaging Mechanism for Oil Spills, which is published by Elsevier, His research specializes in microwave remote sensing and remote sensing for mineralogy detection and mapping. Previously, he worked as a Deputy Director in Research and Development at the Institute of Geospatial Science and Technology and the Department of Remote Sensing, both at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Maged has earned many degrees including a post-doctoral in radar remote sensing from the International Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences, a Ph.D. in environmental remote sensing from the Universiti Putra Malaysia, a Master of Science in physical oceanography from the University Pertanian Malaysia, general and special diploma of Education and a Bachelor of Science in physical oceanography from the University of Alexandria in Egypt. Maged has published well over 250 papers in international conferences and journals and is active in International Geoinformatics, and the International Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ISPRS).
