About the book

The present situations about fire safety and forest fires have captured the news worldwide.

With the technological advancements in the scientific arena, new and advanced technology has been all around us, including sensors, alarms, fire safety measures, etc. However, unable to curb the problems associated with sudden fires and associated losses. Precaution must be taken from the very building blocks, i.e. by considering the type of material used for the preparation of such devices or decorative. This book aims to include wide measures and directives against fire, its expansion, risk assessments, and post-management systems. Scientific inputs to prevent sudden fires, fire extinguishers, and steps to be taken in case of emergency fires have been targeted. The broad reach of the handbook would make it useful at various levels from basic scientific research to the administrative level. Contributions addressing the fire-resistant alternatives, thermal resistant materials, possibilities against the use of volatile organic polymers, properties of the final hybrid products and correlation between the research outputs with the market usability would make the book an informative source in this field of fire safety. The constant advancements in “Fires Safety and Protection” procedures are necessary to eradicate the direct or indirect adverse effects on the nearby population of any type of fire outburst.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Mr. Vice Matušan

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
