About the book

Magnetic materials acquired a very important position in several high-tech areas and technological development. Such materials are being classified not only based on their origin, but also by the nature of processing, properties, functions, and applications. New magnetic materials and hybrid structures are developed using different synthesis and fabrication techniques. Different phenomena and interesting properties are studied theoretically and experimentally using advanced characterization techniques. Magnetic materials are now the building block of all technological innovations. The book Magnetic Materials aims to present the basics of magnetism, magnetic materials, magnetic structures, and their applications in device technology. Chapters and different topics within the book will provide key understandings on different magnetic materials. It will be very helpful to students, researchers, academicians, and professionals, and aims to give ideas and enthusiasm to readers in order to accomplish scientific advances in the subject and technology.

Applications to edit the book are assessed and a suitable editor is selected, at which point the process begins.

Chapter proposals submitted and reviewed

Deadline Extended: Open for Submissions

Potential authors submit chapter proposals ready for review by the academic editor and our publishing review team.

Approved chapters written in full and submitted

Deadline for full chapters: April 14th 2020

Once approved by the academic editor and publishing review team, chapters are written and submitted according to pre-agreed parameters

Full chapters peer reviewed

Review results due: July 3rd 2020

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: September 1st 2020

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Namibia University of Science and Technology

Prof. Dipti Ranjan Sahu is working as Associate professor in Physics at the Namibia University of Science and Technology. He received his doctoral degree in Physics from Utkal University, India. He has worked as a research fellow, postdoctoral researcher, and visiting scientist at several institutions around the globe, including Institute of Materials Science (India), National Taiwan University (Taiwan), National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), and University of Witwatersrand (South Africa). His research focus is on multifunctional materials including nanomaterials, ceramics, composites, spintronics, magnetic materials, and applications of functional materials in devices. He has published 85 international journal articles, 2 book chapters, and more than 100 research articles in conference proceedings and meetings. His research publications received more than 2500 citations so far. He also acts as a reviewer for more than 25 international journals and has reviewed more than 200 articles.
