Irineo Torres-Pacheco
Irineo Torres-Pacheco is an Agronomist Engineer from Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo. He has a Master's Degree in Plant Biology and PhD in Plant Biotechnology from Department of Genetic Engineering, CINVESTAV, Mexico. He was a researcher for 28 years at the Instituto Nacional de Investigaciones Forestales, Agrícolas y Pecuarias of Mexico, where he was also the National Coordinator for Vegetable and Biotechnology Research and Director of the Research Center of the Mexico Central Region. Member of the Advisory Council of the Interministerial Commission on Biosafety of Genetically Modified Organisms in Mexico and member of the Health and Nutrition Expert Advisory Committee Pulse Canada. He has published in international indexed journals, over 50 articles. Currently, he is a member of the Biotechnology Committee of the Mexican Academy of Sciences and a researcher professor at School of Engineering, Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro and invited advisor profesor at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
