Ana Gil De Bona

University of Massachusetts

Dr. Ana Gil de Bona received her PhD in Microbiology and Proteomics from Complutense University of Madrid, Spain. Her research mainly focused on the study of the extracellular environment of the fungus Candida albicans. In particular, she studied the proteomic profile of the extracellular vesicles and the secretome in a virulent strain. Her research also included the analysis of the proteins showed in the cell wall by the fungi under different morphologies and their implication in secretion, host-cell interaction and cell morphology. She had been a visiting scientist at LA BioMed Research Institute at Harbor-UCLA Medical center during her doctoral training. She is currently postdoctoral associate in the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She has authored peer-reviewed research articles, a review and has presented her work to national and international scientific meetings.
