About the book

The goal of the book is to give the reader an overview of a field related to industrial applications in chemical engineering, green technology and nanotechnology. This book aims to provide information about the sonochemical engineering processes, applications of sonochemical reactions in environmental technologies applications of ultrasound to organic or inorganic synthesis and in biotechnology. The book welcomes all submissions in the field of experimental methods and critical reviews from multidisciplines such as chemistry, medicine and materials science.

Among others, topics that are welcome are:
*the fundamentals and experimental methods of acoustic cavitation
*industrial applications,
*ultrasound-assisted reactions,
*organic / inorganic synthesis,
*nanomaterials (encapsulated nanoparticles, metal oxide nanoparticles, nanopowders, nanocollides, nanotubes, nanorods, nanowires, nanofilms, nanoplatelets, nanosheets, nanoribbons, nanobelts, nanoplates, nanodots, nanoalloys, nanodiscs, nanorings, nanotripods nanobricks, nanonails, nanoarrows, nanospheres),
*nanoemulsions,
*wastewater treatment,
*pharmaceutical applications. 

Publishing process

Book initiated and editor appointed

Date completed: August 20th 2019

Applications to edit the book are assessed and a suitable editor is selected, at which point the process begins.

Chapter proposals submitted and reviewed

Deadline Extended: Open for Submissions

Potential authors submit chapter proposals ready for review by the academic editor and our publishing review team.

Approved chapters written in full and submitted

Deadline for full chapters: November 9th 2019

Once approved by the academic editor and publishing review team, chapters are written and submitted according to pre-agreed parameters

Full chapters peer reviewed

Review results due: January 28th 2020

Full chapter manuscripts are screened for plagiarism and undergo a Main Editor Peer Review. Results are sent to authors within 30 days of submission, with suggestions for rounds of revisions.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: March 28th 2020

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

Selcan Karakus

Istanbul University

Assistant professor Selcan Karakus is currently working at the Department of Chemistry, Istanbul University - Cerrahpasa(IUC), Turkey. She received her Master of Science degree in Physical Chemistry from Istanbul University (IU) in 2006. She received her Doctor of Philosophy degree in Physical Chemistry from IU in 2011. She has worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Massachusetts, Department of Polymer Science and Engineering. She has research experience in molecular adsorption, self-assembled polymeric nanostructures and nanocomposites, and copolymer blends. She has worked on different projects funded by Istanbul University and has published several research articles and book chapters in her area of interest.
