About the book

This will book provide comprehensive insights into current nursing care including intensive care, long-term care as well as pediatric and geriatric nursing. This book will cover the most common medical-surgical nursing diagnoses and clinical problems seen in adults and children including nursing care plans, diagnoses, and nursing interventions. In this book, we will discuss both educational and clinical care procedures for those involved in monitoring, managing, and delivering care to patients requiring intensive intervention or support. The topics will include acute, long-term, and surgical nursing care using a concept-based approach with a strong focus on patient safety and patient-centered care. The text emphasizes the importance of communication, interdisciplinary teamwork, provides education guidelines and questions for soliciting health history, and employs a concept-based approach to the content. The range of coverage and practical examples will help the nurses, nursing students, administrators, and other health care professionals to deliver safe and effective care.

IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Dr. Victor V. Chaban is a Professor of Medicine with dual faculty appointment at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU) and the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Chaban completed his postdoctoral training in Neuroscience at UCLA and graduate studies in Clinical Research at CDU. His area of expertise is signal transduction mechanisms of nociception associated with clinical presentations of visceral pain. Currently, Dr. Chaban is an Associate Editor In Chief for the International Journal of Research in Nursing. Dr. Chaban is an author of 4 books: the most recent is "Calcium Signaling and Nervous System. Overview and Directions for Research" by Nova Medicine and Health, N.Y., 2020
