About the book
Elastography is a well known application of conventional ultrasonography with involvement both in diffuse and nodular diseases. The already published evidence is robustly demonstrating the clear position of elastography in the diagnostic algorithms of different diffuse and nodular pathologies.
This volume aims to present the latest up-to-date information related to the current standards in elastography according to the latest European and Universal Guidelines for Ultrasound and Elastography in major recognised fields of the evaluation of hepatic, thyroid, breast, prostate and cervical diseases. Also, a newer field of use such as parathyroid disease and autoimmune thyroid disease or chronic kidney disease, with an impact both in positive diagnostics and follow up, will be presented and discussed. Data regarding qualitative reports and quantitative results, with validated thresholds in the stratification of breast or hepatic diseases will also be discussed. Head to head comparison of different static and dynamic types of elastography will be taken into consideration along with similarities, differences as well as their weak and strong points.
