Luiz Eduardo Imbelloni
Luiz Euardo Imbelloni iscurrently an associate director of the Regional Anesthesia Institute and a Professor at the School of Medicine, Faculdade de Medicina Nova Esperança. He earned the title of Professor Etranger, Universite Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France, in 1981. Prof. Imbelloni has published extensively in the field of spinal anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks, and has also authored two books about spinal anesthesia in Brazil. His main research interest is the spinal anesthesia, and he recently published a study on magnetic resonance imaging of the thoracic spine, opening the field to the use of thoracic spinal anesthesia. Prof. Imbelloni is a pioneer in the use of spinal anesthesia for laparoscopic cholecystectomy in Brazil and is currently active in clinical trials for spinal anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks. He also serves as consultant to two major pharmaceutical companies.
