I have been doing teaching and research in Mathematical Logic and Philosophy of Science. My area of specialization in M.A. and Ph.D is also in the areas mentioned above. I joined as a Faculty in the Dept. Humanities and Social Sciences at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 1973 and since then I remained in the Institute till my retirement in 2004. I acted as Head of the Department from 1995 to 2001. From 2005 - 7. I was a Visiting Professor, Centre for Philosophy and History of Science, Dept. of Philosophy, Pune University. I was also a Visiting Professor at University of Paris in 2003, a CNRS Fellow in Paris from 1993 – 1994. I have number of publications, including book chapters and papers, both in international and national journals and anthologies. I edited (along with Johan van Benthem of Stanford University and Rohit Parikh of Graduate Centre, City University New York) two books entitled: - ‘Proof, Computation and Agency: Logic at the Crossroads’ and - ‘Games, Norms and Reasons: Logic at the Crossroads’ Both were published in 2011 by Springer in their prestigious Synthese Library Series. I was the Guest Editor (along with Prof. Johan van Benthem of Stanford University) of a Special Issue on Logic and Philosophy in two volumes of the JICPR published in January and April, 2010. In December, 2011 two more anthologies on Logic and Philosophy Today have been published by me in College Publications, Kings College, London in their prestigious Yellow Series edited by him and Prof. Johan van Benthem. I was elected a member (2009 – 2015) of the “Association for Symbolic Logic”\'s (ASL) Committee for Logic in East Asia. ASL is the highest body in the world on Mathematical Logic and publishes the Journal of Symbolic Logic. I am also the founder member and a member of the Steering Committee of the “Association for Logic in India (ALI).”
