Vladimir Gribkov
V.A. Gribkov received his diploma at the Moscow Physical-Technical Institute (Dolgoprudnyj, Moscow Region, USSR) in 1967, candidate and doctor of phys.-math. sci. degrees at the P.N. Lebedev Phys. Inst., Russian Ac. Sci., in 1974 and 1990 correspondingly. He is the State Award of the USSR laureate for Laser Diagnostics of 1986 and the Polish Ministry of Sci. and Education 1st Prize winner for Plasma Focus researches of 1987. He was an assistant educational professor since 1974 and full professor since 1991 at the Moscow Eng.-Phys. Institute. He is the President of the Moscow Physical Society since 1994 and a member of the Board of the All-Russian Physical Society since 1999. At present his position in the A.A. Baikov Institute of Metallurgy and Material Sciences, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia, is a leading scientist of the Laboratory for Radiation Interaction with Metals, and at the Institute of Plasma Physics and Laser Microfusion, Warsaw, Poland, he is a head of the Office for New Technologies. He has successfully supervised 10 candidate theses and 15 diplomas. His research interests are concentrated in dense plasma physics, plasma diagnostics, powerful pulsed lasers, penetrating radiation facilities and its applications to material sciences and biology, X-ray lasers, and nuclear energy systems. He has published 7 monographs, one textbook, several patents, and over 300 papers and conference reports in Russian and international scientific journals and conference proceedings. He was several times an Invited Professor in U.S.A., Canada, Argentina, Malaysia and Singapore. Currently he is a member of the International Scientific Committee of the Center for Dense Magnetized Plasmas, established in 1999 under umbrella of UNESCO, and Staff Associate at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics, Trieste, Italy. He is a fellow of the Institute of Physics, UK.
