H. Brian Sun, DMD, MS is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Western University of Health Sciences, a Clinical Instructor at the University of Pacific, and a graduate alumnus of the UCLA Center for Oral/Head & Neck Oncology Research. His areas of interest include dentoalveolar surgery, orthognathic surgery, sleep surgery, trauma, pathology, and anesthesiology with a multitude of journal, textbook, and reference book authorships. He is a lifelong clinician, researcher, and educator with interests not only in the clinical but the scientific aspects of surgery who remains comfortable with both teaching and researching maxillofacial biology.

The book is an introduction to concepts in head and neck surgical pathology that are both novel and proven. Chapters discuss the various anatomic, reconstructive, and esthetic considerations that are often unique to surgeries of the head, face, and neck. International cooperation was made to ensure that a wide range of perspectives is presented in this volume.
