Khalid S. Essa

Dr. Khalid S. Essa received a BSc (with honors), MSc, and Ph.D. in Geophysics from the Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Egypt, in 1997, 2001, and 2004, respectively. He joined the staff of Cairo University in 1997 and was appointed Research Professor of Potential Field Methods in the Department of Geophysics in 2014. He completed post-doctoral studies at Strasbourg University, France; Charles University Prague, Czech Republic; and Western Michigan University, USA. He has served as an editor and external reviewer for many top journals. He attended several international geophysical conferences in the United States, Australia, and France. He is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG), the American Geophysical Union (AGU), the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), the European and Association of Geoscientists & Engineers (EAGE). He is also a member of the Petroleum and Mineral Resources Research Council, Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, Egypt. Dr. Essa is the recipient of the 2017 Prof. Nasry Matari Shokry Award in Applied Geology from the Academy of Scientific Research & Technology and an award from Cairo University for Scientific Excellence in Interdisciplinary, Multidisciplinary and Future Sciences in 2017.
