Noor Us Saher

University of Karachi

Dr. Noor Us Saher specializes in Marine Zoology and has about 75 research publications in national and international journals and 4 international book chapters. She has executed 7 research projects (HEC, PSF, and WWF) as a Principal Investigator. Currently, the Biochemical variability, molecular characterization of some enzymes along Phylogenetics (Decapod crustaceans, Finfish and Shellfish and Marine Snakes) of marine species are the main focus of her research interest.

About the book

An imperative role of Fishery cannot be refuted in the national financial system as a number of fish species play a significant role in the economies of several countries throughout the world. Seafood is the alternate source of dietary protein, as providing access to healthy, low-impact nutritional composition, thus the fishes and fish industry remain worth over a trillion dollars annually and employs millions of peoples make sure the sustainability and fundamental connotation to economies all over the world. The fish stocks are the key component of the world food system and a vital constituent of an aquatic environment and also have a conspicuous contribution to the aquatic food chain. Fisheries composed of fish and shellfish stocks and the fishing methods used to capture fish through the Fishing fleets. The monitoring and analyses based on diversity, abundance, amount of fish catch, bycatch, target, and nontarget fishing, types of capture methods, and fishing fleet provide information about the biological sustainability of commercial fishing. On the other hand, bycatch data measured in stock assessments are helpful to determine sustainable fishing.

This book is an effort to summarize and gather the current progress in the fishery and provide the platform to gather the data based on different aspects of Fishery.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Andrea Tomurad

As an Author Service Manager my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review, to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing, or reviewing. I assist authors in the preparation of their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines and ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review, and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
