About the book

The book contains recent research devoted to the application of the matrix theory in the different areas of science and engineering. It can be treated as a continuation of the theoretical results obtained in pure mathematics to the specific applications in applied science. The book will start with topics related to the classical investigation in the matrix theory, describe the recent results in such classical areas as differential and integral calculus, specify the evaluation of the matrix components and describe the application of the matrix and linear algebra methods to computers, engineering, communication, chemistry, and technology. The use of advanced software environments, namely MATLAB and MAPLE will be discussed in this book. This book will also discuss the perspective directions of the matrix theory and applications related to matrix groups, matrices over rings and superrings, matrix fields, application to graph theory, application of matrices in quantum mechanics, field theory and statistical physics, dynamical approach to random matrix theory and spectral theory of random matrices.

It is our hope that the book will be a good manual for the scientists in the area of pure mathematics, computer science, and practical engineering as well post-graduate students.

Book compiled, published and promoted

Expected publication date: June 13th 2022

All chapters are copy-checked and typesetted before being published. IntechOpen regularly submits its books to major databases for evaluation and coverage, including the Clarivate Analytics Book Citation Index in the Web of ScienceTM Core Collection. Other discipline-specific databases are also targeted, such as Web of Science's BIOSIS Previews.

About the editor

Pidstryhach Institute for Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics

Prof. Andriychuk obtained the M.Sc. degree in computational mathematics from the Lviv National University, the Ph.D. degree in application of computational techniques from the Kyiv National University, and the D.Sc. degree in mathematical modelling from the Lviv Polytechnic National University in 1976, 1987, and 2015, respectively. He has been employed by the Pidstryhach Institute for Applied Problems of Mechanics and Mathematics (IAPMM), Ukraine for more than 40 years. Currently, he is the Head of Department of the Numerical Methods in Mathematical Physics at the IAPMM. His professional performance includes more than 160 papers in the scientific journals and international conference proceedings, which concern to the diffraction and antenna synthesis theory, optimization methods and nonlinear integral and matrix equations. He is author of two monographs in antenna theory. Dr. Andriychuk is IEEE Member since 1995, and IEEE Senior Member since 2003.
