Mangrove forest provide several regulatory, provisioning and cultural ecosystem services along the tropical and subtropical coastal areas. Though, they provide many ecosystem services and a fragile ecosystem, around half of global mangrove area cover have been lost due to degradation and deforestation such as urbanization, aquaculture, agriculture and currently climate change also threatening these ecosystem. Therefore, many mangrove restoration and rehabilitation program have been initiated around the globe. Mangrove restoration and rehabilitation program have increased in last two decades through involving local coastal communities, where they depend on mangroves for their livelihood. These restoration and rehabilitation programs undertaken to established lost ecosystem services they provides. However, it is still unclear if they are providing the same ecosystem services as pristine forest and how long it takes for these forest to provide same services. Thus this book aim to discuss methods, structure, function and services provided by restored and rehabilitated mangroves.
