About the book

This book aims to cover topics related to psoriasis, the most common disease in the group of Papullosquamous disorders. The book will welcome topic on the history of the disease since it was first described in medical journals and the scientists who have played a key role in explaining diagnosing the symptoms and treating it first. There is a form of the disease that involves multiple joints of the body with swelling and pain and deformity of the joints. Naturally, the initial diagnosis of this type and effective treatment plays an important role in preventing the destruction of the involved joints. When a patient is fighting the disease for almost his/her whole life, naturally, the disease will have adverse effects on the patient's psyche. Preventive recognition and treatment of these problems will reduce the patient's depression or stress and increase the patient's quality of life. The cause of psoriasis is not yet clear, but what is certain is that changes in the patient's immune system can trigger or exacerbate it. Understanding these changes will lead to a better understanding of the disease and even finding new and more effective treatments. What is certain is that new and effective treatments with fewer side effects have been introduced in recent years. Trying to build and offer new treatments will be one of the most fascinating parts of this book. Naturally, all treatments, along with the positive effects, have unwanted side effects. Accurate knowledge of these cases and knowing the necessary solutions to eliminate these negative effects is one of the requirements of every physician.

Introducing your Author Service Manager

Ms. Nera Butigan

As an Author Service Manager, my responsibilities include monitoring and facilitating all publishing activities for authors and editors. From chapter submission and review to approval and revision, copyediting and design, until final publication, I work closely with authors and editors to ensure a simple and easy publishing process. I maintain constant and effective communication with authors, editors, and reviewers, which allows for a level of personal support that enables contributors to fully commit and concentrate on the chapters they are writing, editing or reviewing. I assist authors in preparing their full chapter submissions and track important deadlines to ensure they are met. I help to coordinate internal processes such as linguistic review and monitor the technical aspects of the process. As an ASM I am also involved in the acquisition of editors. Whether that be identifying an exceptional author and proposing an editorship collaboration, or contacting researchers who would like the opportunity to work with IntechOpen, I establish and help manage author and editor acquisition and contact.
