About the book
The Ocular Surface is defined as the interface between the functioning eye and the environment. Ocular Surface Diseases are different problems that occur on the transparent layer in the front of the eye, or the cornea. Within last decades, the understanding of the ocular surface structure and function has evolved: we now know more but we also have more new questions about this complex, so important for ocular function. OSD can be managed and maintained with proper care and a stepwise approach to address each individual’s ocular symptoms, resulting in improved vision and quality of life.
This new open access book aims to provide an overview about ocular surface physiology and pathology, the use of diagnostic tests, the management and the future potential treatment options. The book Ocular Surface Diseases will be a self-contained collection of scholarly papers targeting an audience of practicing researchers, academics, PhD students and other scientists. The contents of the book will be written by multiple authors and edited by experts in the field.
