Godfrey Lule
Professor Godfrey Lule was born in Kampala, Uganda, and studied medicine at Makerere University, Kampala graduating with the MBChB degree in 1976. He specialized in internal medicine at the University of Nairobi. He studied at the University of London and The London School of Tropical Medicine and Health obtaining the postgraduate Diploma in Tropical Medicine and the MSc. in infectious disease at the University of London. In 2008, he received the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physician (Edinburgh). He has published over 50 original articles in peer reviewed journals and has contributed chapters to textbooks especially covering the fields of gastroenterology and HIV disease. In 2000, he edited the first edition of 'Guidelines to Antiretroviral Therapy in Kenya” followed by 'Guidelines to management of opportunistic infections in Kenya”. He currently works as a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, University of Nairobi medical school and is a practicing consultant physician, gastroenterologist and infectious disease specialist.
