Hojjat Ahmadzadehfar

Prof. Dr. Hojjat Ahmadzadehfar, MSc, is head of the department of Nuclear Medicine at the Klinikum Westfalen in Dortmund. He received medical degree from the Guilan University of Medical Sciences in Iran in 1999 and did residency in nuclear medicine in Germany at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, University Hospital Bonn, between 2003 and 2008. From 2008 to 2013, he was the assistant medical director of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the University Hospital Bonn and from 2013 to the end of 2019 worked as the head of the therapy section in this hospital. Prof. Dr. Ahmadzadehfar serves as an editor and reviewer for several international journals and has written over 200 papers and book chapters.

Thyroid cancer is the eighth most common type of cancer and is most frequently diagnosed among people aged 45-54. Nearly three out of four cases are found in women, while about 2% of thyroid cancers occur in children and teenagers. This book is for medical doctors with experience in the field of thyroid cancer. It comprises different subjects, especially the advances in the diagnosis of thyroid cancer with PET imaging and elastography, as well as the new therapeutic approaches with tyrosine kinase inhibitors.
