Marina Silva-Opps
Dr. Marina Silva-Opps received her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from the Université de Montréal, Canada in 1996. She is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada. Over the course of her research career, Dr. Silva-Opps has acquired a rare combination of ecological expertise that she uses to study the patterns of abundance, species richness, movement, and body size of mammals and birds across spatial scales. Dr. Silva-Opps is proficient in statistics, GIS spatial analysis, and manipulation and analysis of large databases for macroecological studies. Since her arrival at the University of Prince Edward Island, Dr. Silva-Opps has published several technical reports, as well as papers in high impact national and international journals.
