A problem solver and communicator with success in teaching and fostering positive learning environments. Dedicated to clear and thorough communication with students and staff. Particularly interested in qualitative methodologies, gender, power, knowledge, and community psychology. My teaching and research interests include how the ‘social other’ is socially constructed by the dominant cultural practices of communities and settings, power structures and how they inform hierarchy, forms of participation and social change, qualitative methodologies, the social construction of human rights issues, and the experiences and identities of academics within higher education.
