He is Professor of Medicine and Director of the IBD Fellow Program at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). He is National Researcher at Level 1 by CONACYT. Mentor of the Program in Master and Doctoral Programs at the Faculty of Medicine (UNAM). Dr. Yamamoto-Furusho is specialized in internal medicine, gastroenterology, gastrointestinal endoscopy and inflammatory bowel disease. He has MasterÂ´s of Science and Ph.D. degrees and he performed a postdoctoral research fellow at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University focus on IBD research. Dr. Yamamoto-Furusho has published several papers in the IBD field and participated in several clinical trials focused on new therapeutic agents for IBD. Dr. Yamamoto-Furusho is member of the National Academy of Medicine in Mexico, American Gastroenterology Association, American College of Gastroenterology, Massachussets Medical Society, CrohnÂ´s and Colitis Foundation of America, European CrohnÂ´s and Colitis Society, AsociaciÃ³n Mexicana de GastroenterologÃa.
