Dr. Rizwan Ahmad is working as University Professor and Research Coordinator at the College of Medicine, Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University, Saudi Arabia. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Medicine, Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, AMU, Aligarh, India. He was appointed as Associate Professor of Biochemistry, Department of Human Function, Oman Medical College (OMC) - Oman affiliated with West Virginia University, USA in Sept 2010. Dr. Ahmad worked as Founding Head, School of Life and Allied Health Sciences, Glocal University, India. He has guided a Ph.D., 34 PG, and 14 UG dissertations. He has published several research papers in peer-reviewed journals. The focus of his research has been on Protein and Nucleic Acid modification and their role in Autoimmune Disorders. He has presented over 50 papers at various National and International Conferences. Dr. Ahmad has delivered many lectures on Immunology and chaired scientific sessions at various conferences. He is also a member of various national and international scientific bodies.

The current book entitled Free Radicals, Antioxidants, and Diseases gives an idea of detecting free radicals in vivo by newer techniques and provides insights into the roles played by various antioxidants in combating diseases caused by oxidative stress. The chapters included in this volume showcase new investigation in this field by the research groups around the world.
