Master of Science in Nuclear Engineering and Research Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Science and Technology in Nuclear Plants at the Politecnico di Milano, where he is researcher (Department of Energy, Nuclear Engineering Division) and professor of Nuclear Design and Technology. Visiting scientist at the Institute for Transuranium Elements (European Commission, Joint Research Centre, Karlsruhe, Germany) from 2000 to 2001, and c/o the Westinghouse Electric Company (Science and Technology Department, Pittsburgh, PA, USA) in 2003. He has been lecturing, for various curricula in Nuclear Engineering at Politecnico di Milano: courses of Nuclear Plants I, of Nuclear Plants II; of Introduction to Nuclear Engineering, of Laboratory of Nuclear Engineering, and of Nuclear Materials Technology. He belongs to the Faculty of the Doctorate School in Energy and Nuclear Science and Technology (Politecnico di Milano). His research activities in Italy and abroad concern: technological issues, characterization, modelling and performance analysis of innovative fuels, cladding materials and structural components for nuclear power plants; development of simulation tools for the multi-physics modelling and analysis of Gen IV nuclear reactors. Co-author of a European Patent and of 56 peer-reviewed publications (21 papers in international journals, 27 papers in the proceeding of international conferences, 7 contributes to edited books, and 1 international e-book).
