Juber Akhtar

Integral University

Dr. Juber Akhtar has more than 16 years of research and teaching experience. He obtained his BPharm and MPharm from Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi, India, and Manipal University, Karnataka, India, respectively. He obtained his Ph.D. from Integral University, Lucknow, India. Dr. Akhtar is nominated as the head of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Integral University. He also served as chairman cum biological scientist for the Institutional Animal Ethics Committee (IAEC). He works at the Causality Assessment Committee (CAC) and is in charge of the Animal House facility at the Integral University. He has experience teaching abroad and was previously a professor at Buraydah College of Pharmacy and Dentistry, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Dr. Akhtar has more than 100 publications in reputed journals to his credit. He served as an academic book editor for international publishers and is an editorial board member for many esteemed journals. He has supervised a dozen Ph.D. and MPharm students in research projects. Dr. Akhtar’s area of research interest is the development of nanoparticulate drug delivery systems.

Vitamin B is a water-soluble vitamin that plays important roles in cell metabolism and synthesis of red blood cells. Many foods contain B vitamins, including meat, poultry, and fish, among others. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin with antioxidant properties that can be found in vegetable oils, cereals, meat, poultry, eggs, and fruits. Both vitamins B and E are important for human health. This book provides a comprehensive overview of vitamins B and E. It is organized into three sections on the role of vitamin B on body health and gut flora, vitamin B deficiency and its association with the disease pellagra, and the medicinal significance and complications associated with vitamin E deficiency.
