Mithilesh Singh

Dr. Mithilesh Singh is an Indian citizen born on 24th July 1979. He graduated in Veterinary and Animal Sciences from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar (2004) and completed both post-graduation (2006) and doctoral research (2009) in Veterinary Immunology from Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar. He joined the department of Immunology, Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar in 2010 as a scientist. He has done considerable work on the diagnosis and control of canine parvovirus in dogs. Development of a live attenuated CPV-2a-based vaccine candidate and canine parvovirus-specific egg-yolk IgY-based novel immunotherapeutic are a few of the notable achievements under his credit. He was the first to report canine parvovirus-specific nucleotide aptamers that may have diagnostic and therapeutic potential. His research work has been documented in several journals of international repute. Society for Immunology & Immunopathology awarded him the Young Scientist Award in 2010. He is also a recipient of an International Travel grant to attend XXIV WPC-2012 from Dept of Science & Technology, Gov of India and British Poultry Science Ltd, Scotland. He also served as associate editor and reviewer for many journals of international repute. He is also a life member of the Indian Society for Veterinary Immunology and Biotechnology (ISVIB), Indian Association for Veterinary Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Diseases (IAVMI) and Society for Immunology and Immunopathology (SIIP). His research area of interest is host-pathogen interaction, the development of novel immunotherapeutic, innate immunity, and immunomodulation.
