Raimi Morufu Olalekan (BSc., M.Sc., Ph.D., MNES, REHO, LEHO, FAIWMES) is currently a lecturer in the department of Environmental Management and Toxicology, Federal University Otuoke, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. He is the country coordinator for Global Research Institute and Training Centre, the South-South Zonal Team Lead for Civil Alliance for Climate Action (CACA) now changed to Civil Alliance for Climate Protection and Education (CACPE). A fellow and State Representative of Africa Institute of Waste Management and Environmental Studies in Bayelsa State. Also, he has served as the Director, Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization and as Technical adviser to the Executive Secretary, Bayelsa State Primary Health Care Board. Raimi is an Assistant Director of Research Development and Outreach at the Oasis Public Health Consulting Ltd. He has engaged in multiple projects and working groups as well as worked as an independent consultant for various international and national organisations, including UNICEF, WHO, Sydani Group, Solina Health, eHealth, CHAI, BYSPHCB and NPHCDA among others. He has helped shape programs, design high-impact initiatives, and drive public/environmental health impact. Raimi leads a team of subject matter and methodological experts and analysts who conduct research and provide advisory services to drive evidence-based innovation and leadership for development partners, public health practitioners, emergency managers, community-based organizations, and others to foster research, learning, and preservation as well as to design and implement policy-relevant research that contributes to real-world solutions for pressing disaster, climate and public health problems. His current research interests focus on environmental epidemiology, pollution control management, hydrogeochemistry, groundwater pollution, groundwater quality, health risk assessment, water and gender, chemicals & health, environmental public health policy & practice, environmental justice & health equity, physical activity & environment, noise & health, building health & resilient communities, children’s environmental health, emerging fields in environmental health, energy systems & policy, food & the environment, nature & human health, clean air, water & soil, climate change & human health, health impact assessment, water pollution and management, environmental impact assessment, waste management, institutional capacity building, policy and governance issues, environmental management, risk and vulnerability assessment, hazard mitigation, and resilience building. Raimi is an award-winning scholar with several awards and fellowships to his credit.
