Burak Erkut

I studied economics and management science (B. Sc.) and economics (M. Sc.) at Leipzig University (Germany), and focused on product innovation and market shaping from the perspective of evolutionary economics at Technische Universität Dresden (Germany) for my PhD. During my PhD, I was a visiting researcher at York University (Canada) as well as GGS Indraprastha University and AIIMS New Delhi (both India). Together with Prof. Marco Lehmann-Waffenschmidt (TU Dresden), Gagan Deep Sharma (GGS Indraprastha University) and Achal Kumar Srivastava (AIIMS New Delhi), I co-directed the research project \"Plasticity Options for Financial Decision Making: Theory and Experimental Evidence\", which was financed by DAAD and DFG. With my research, I received the publication award of the Faculty of Business and Economics of TU Dresden, the most cited research award of the Journal of Open Innovation: Technology, Market, and Complexity and the prestigious German Bundesbank Award for Young Researchers. I was a guest editor for Sustainability, organized and chaired sessions at the NeuroPsychoEconomics Conference (Antwerpen, 2017) and the European Conference for Digital Government (Haspolat, 2019) and currently serve as an editorial board member for Mathematics. I am an associate professor at Bahçeşehir Cyprus University and a fellow of Institute for Research in Economic and Fiscal Issues. My research interests include innovation, entrepreneurship, evolutionary economics, financial decision-making and history of economic thought.
