Tahir Mumtaz Awan
Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan is a highly motivated individual with a doctorate degree in marketing from Business School of Sun Yat-sen university (SYSU), Guangzhou, Peoples Republic of China (PRC). He also holds Masters in Management with specialization in Technology Management, Masters in Mass Communication, Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in Marketing, and Bachelor of Science honors degree in Computer Sciences. Dr. Awan is the Head of China Study Centre of COMSATS University Islamabad, a think tank established for research and development activities focused on PRC and Pak-China friendship. He is serving as a Senior Research Fellow at China Brand Center, Business School of SYSU, PRC. He also serves as an Assistant Professor of Marketing, Department of Management Sciences, COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan. In his 15 years of career in academia, he proved himself as a diligent professional, with excellent communication skills applied in a broad range of contexts including administrative expertise, leadership qualities, teaching and training, conferences and workshops presentations, and international level events’ management. He is a United Nations Systems Staff College fellowship holder for 'Leveraging Big Data for Sustainable Development” and delivered talks, trainings and keynote speeches on topics including Big Data, Cryptocurrencies, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and Belt and Road Initiative, Marketing in developing countries, etc. He co-authored multiple book chapters, journal articles, policy briefs along with four edited books (to be published by the end of year 2022).
