Auwal Abdullahi is qualified as a Physiotherapist at the Bayero University Kano, Nigeria. He worked at various places including a University Teaching Hospital, a Rehabilitation Center and a General Hospital before joining the academia in 2010. In 2013, he obtained an MSc in Neurological Rehabilitation from the University of Plymouth, UK. Presently, he is a Lecturer in the Department of Physiotherapy, Bayero University Kano, Nigeria. His main area of research interest is Neurological Rehabilitation in which he published more than 30 scholarly articles especially on stroke. Furthermore, he is a reviewer for journal such as BMC Neurology, Child Neurology and International Journal of Therapy and Rehabilitation. His research areas in stroke included motor rehabilitation, self-management, central post stroke pain, neglect and creation of outcomes measures such as those for activities of daily living, self-efficacy and neglect. Auwal is involved in the teaching and supervision of both undergraduates and Masters students.
