Islam Khalil is an associate professor of pharmaceutics at the College of Pharmacy, Misr University for Science and Technology (Egypt). He received his B.Sc. in pharmaceutical sciences from Misr University for Science and Technology in 2003, his M.Sc. in 2009, and Ph.D. in 2013 in pharmaceutics from Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University (Egypt). He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in an American university in Cairo, Zewail City for Science and Technology, and Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School (Fulbright visiting scholar). He also worked as a consultant in the pharmaceutical industry and bio-equivalent centers. His research is focused on designing, developing, and evaluating of nanoscale carriers and scaffolds for various biomedical applications such as therapeutics and tissue regeneration.
