Projects Undertaken During Ph.D. Level: • Thesis Work: - “Design and Analysis of Microstrip Filters using Artificial Neural Network” Overview: In thesis work, the microstrip line geometry of the microstrip filter is obtained as a function of input variables, which are height of the dielectric material (h), dielectric constants of the substrate material (εr), and the mid-band or cut-off frequency (fc), using artificial neural network techniques. Similarly, in the analysis of filter, the Scattering parameters of the filter is obtained as a function of the microstrip line dimensions (W, L), height of the dielectric substrate (h), and dielectric constants of the material (εr). Thus, the forward and reverse sides of the problem will be defined as synthesis and analysis for the microstrip filter respectively. To design microstrip filters at 1.8 GHz and 5.2 GHz, mathematical modeling has been done for various designs and designs have been simulated using microwave simulation tool IE3D. These filters have been fabricated using FR4 substrate and have been analyzed using artificial neural network. The various filters such as band pass, band stop, low pass and high pass filters have been fabricated and designs have been validated by comparing simulated and measured results. Therefore the geometric dimensions of filter are obtained with high accuracy. MATLAB programming language GUI (Graphical User Interface) tools are used for implementing results. Projects Undertaken During M.Tech. Level : • Major Project (Thesis): - “Design of Microstrip patch antennas and filters using Neural Network” Overview: In thesis work, the neural network is employed as a tool in design of the microstrip antennas and filters where size of the antenna is major limitation especially in mobile and wireless applications. In this design procedure, synthesis is defined as the forward side and then analysis as the reverse side of the problem. Therefore, one can obtain the geometric dimensions with high accuracy, which are the length and the width of the patch and filters in our geometry. MATLAB programming language GUI (Graphical User Interface) tools are used for implementing results. • Minor Project: - “Performance Analysis of Routing Protocols For Mobile Ad- hoc Networks ” Overview: A Mobile Ad- hoc Network (MANET) is a self-starting network formed on the fly by a group of mobile nodes without the aid of any centralized administration or established infrastructure. In the project a mechanism is proposed for dealing with the broadcast redundancy. The project proposes an approach for calculation of MCDS for the entire network. Projects Undertaken During B.E. Level: • Major Project: - “Height measuring through computer” Overview: The basic concept behind my project is to generate signal from the computer, which through parallel port are provided to stepper motor. The motor then starts rotating from bottom to up scanning whole object by infrared rays that generated by infrared generator circuit. An infrared sensor is used to catch the rays reflected by the object and it keeps on doing that till whole object is scanned. As soon as the sensor don’t get any reflect ray back, it gives signal to the computer through parallel port and our software stops the motor at that moment. This is how we scanned the whole object and by doing some mathematical calculation we can get the required height of the object. • Minor Project: - “Karnaugh Map (K-Map) Plotter”: Overview: The basic purpose of design a K-Map Plotter is, with this project we can evaluate the truth table as well as plot K-Map of any Boolean function. The circuit comprises two sections, namely truth table evaluator and K-Map plotter of function (f).
