Mattia Marinelli (1983) received his master degree in electrical engineering in 2007. Currently he is working on his PhD in electrical engineering at the University of Genova. The main field of research is related to wind and solar data analysis, distributed generators electromechanical modelling and integration studies of renewable energy sources in power systems. His skills concern Wind Turbine (DFIG and Direct Drive), Photovoltaic Cells, electrochemical based Storage Systems (Lihium-Ion, ZEBRA, Vanadium-Redox) and Internal Combustion Engine modelling both in DIgSILENT and MATLAB-Simulink environments. Most of these models have been realized during two research projects: SmartGrid led by Distribution Research Group and Renewable Energy Storage led by Renewable Energy Group (both Groups are part of the Research Technical Area, Enel Ingegneria e Innovazione S.p.A).
