Davide Alfano

Italian Aerospace Research Centre Italy

Davide Alfano is a researcher in Materials Science at Italian Aerospace Research Centre (CIRA). He got degree in Chemistry (2000) and Ph.D. (2003) in Materials Science from University of Salerno (Italy). Before working as researcher at CIRA, his research activities were focused on physical chemistry, and spectroscopic characterisation of materials in particular by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). Currently, his research at CIRA is focused on: • the characterisation of spectroscopic properties of advanced materials for aerospace applications, with particular reference to ceramic materials; • the study of resistance to oxidation of ultrahigh-temperature ceramic composites; • the application of non-destructive testing on advanced materials. His work has resulted in 14 publications on international journals and one patent.
