Yu Liu

Professor Yu Liu is a doctoral supervisor of the School of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). In 2004, Liu received his double bachelor's degrees in mechatronics engineering and biomedical engineering from UESTC. After that, he gained his master's degree in 2006 and a Ph.D. degree in 2010. Meanwhile, He went to Northwestern University, Evanston, U.S.A. as a Visiting Pre-doctoral Fellow from 2008 to 2010. Since Jan. 2011, Liu has worked at the Institute of reliability engineering(www.relialab.org) at UESTC. From July 2012 to March 2013, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. From November 2014 to January 2015, he was a researcher at the Department of engineering management, city university of Hongkong (CITYU). In July 2011, Dr. Liu was promoted to associate professor, then selected as a doctoral supervisor in December 2012. In July 2015, Liu got an exceptional promotion and became a professor. Dr. Liu's researches focus on system reliability modeling and analysis, maintenance decision, uncertainty quantification, prognostics, health management, and design under uncertainty.
