Heriberto Rodríguez-Tobías is a chemist (BSc) graduated from Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila in June 2007. He obtained his MSc and PhD in Polymer Technology at Centro de Investigación en Química Aplicada (2011 and 2015, respectively). During his BSc thesis, he investigated about the use of microwave irradiation for the stereo-controlled synthesis of stilbene. Later, throughout his MSc thesis, he acquired an extensive experience in the synthesis, characterization and mechanical evaluation of poly(acrilonitrile-butadiene-styrene)/zinc oxide nanocomposites obtained by means of in situ polymerization. More recently, he has focused on designing new polymeric fibrous materials containing multifunctional nanoparticles, which can be used in medical and enviromental issues. This latter topic was the mainstay of his PhD thesis work. Currently, Dr. Rodríguez-Tobías investigated the synthesis of new bio-based poly(acrylate)s for the organic coatings market at Reacciones Químicas S.A. de C.V.
