Edward Wang

Dr. Edward Wang is the Associate Dean at the Center for Teaching Development and a faculty member at the Department of Civil Engineering and Environmental Informatics, Minghsin University of Science and Technology (MUST) in Hsin-Chu. While being an MUST faculty, he also served as an adjunct professor at Bulacan State University, Philippines and a senior advisor to Moh and Associates. He has played leadership roles at several international organizations related to education accreditation, capacity building and training of next generation of students. He leads a review board of the 2015 International Professional Engineers Alliance, providing training and technical assistance to various tertiary education institutions around the Asian Region. Ed draws on more than 20 years of education, engineering, and management experience in the government, academic, and private sectors and has worked as a project manager, department head, discipline manager, author, marketer, sole proprietor, professor, and dean of academic affairs. Representative clients include: T.Y. Lin Internationals, etc. He possesses a strong leadership and expertise on multi-sector policy coordination. Dr. Wang is a registered Professional Engineer in California (No.59308) and a registered Structural Engineer in Illinois (No. 081005767). His first Central Asian business book “Identifying Opportunities for Consulting Engineers in Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation, CAREC” was published in 2013. He acted as a senior consultant on various educational reform projects. He is the author or co-author of hundreds of publications and presentations and has facilitated or presented workshops, seminars, webinars, and meetings throughout the U.S. and Taiwan. He is a member of ASCE and CICHE and has chaired national and international committees and groups. Dr. Wang received his Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis in 1998, and became an adjunct professor at Washington University from 1999 to 2003 while working as a department manager for CH2M HILL St. Louis Office. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and the Past President of the ASCE Taiwan International Group. He is also a member of the International Affairs Committee of Chinese Institute of Engineers (CIE) and Chinese Institute of Civil and Hydraulic Engineers (CICHE), the Deputy Secretary General of Asian Civil Engineering Coordinate Council (ACECC) and APEC Monitoring Committee. He has published 9 books and more than 150 journal and conference papers.
