Kuan-Tsung Chang

Kuan-Tsung Chang received his Doctoral degree in civil engineering form National Chiao Tung University (NCTU), HsinChu, Taiwan, in 1998. From 1998 to 2000, he served as a supply officer in the Army. He is currently an associate professor of Civil Engineering and Environmental Informatics at the Ming-hsin University of Science and Technology (MUST). Prof. Chang is the Director of the Environmental Remote Sensing Research Center of MUST. Prof. Chang has a Certificate on Professional Surveyor (技證字第007540號), PMA (PMA-2014-18527), TUV Rheiniand SERMM (SERMM-2012-0000038209-001), and TUV Rheiniand SDCMM (SERMM-2012-0000038239-001). He conducted several research and development project in the area of landslide feature or geospatial object extraction, hyperspectral image analysis, pavement capacity measurement using 3D Laser Scanner, individual tree canopy analysis using Airborne Lidar data, and soil moisture detection using thermal images. His major research interests are in the field of environmental remote sensing, GIS applications, Engineering Surveying and Monitoring, and spatial analysis on geospatial objects. Dr. Chang is General Secretary of the Taiwan Group on Earth Observation (TGEO) and Supervisor of Chinese Union of Surveying and Mapping. He is also an active member of the Chinese Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (CSPRS). His research spans Engineering Surveying, Landslide inventory and vulnerability assessment, Forest inventory, Environmental remote sensing, and UAV data processing and applications.
