Dirk Loehr

Dirk Loehr (*1964) is a Professor of Taxation and Ecological Economics at the Trier University of Applied Sciences (Environment-Campus Birkenfeld), Germany, and Associate Professor at Ruhr-University in Bochum, Germany. His career has included side jobs as tax adviser, as a lecturer for a private real estate academy (Sprengnetter Immobilienbewertung) and the Center for Urban and Real Estate Management (CUREM, University of Zürich, Switzerland), as a consultant for the German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) / German International Cooperation (GIZ) in Cambodia, and full-time employment as financial manager in an international hotel group and as a chief department manager for the Deutsche Bahn AG (also as member of the supervisory board of a subsidiary company). Besides his job as professor, Löhr is actually member of the public real estate assessment board (2nd period of office) of the county of Birkenfeld, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Moreover he is head of the Center for Soil Protection and Land Use Policy (Trier / Birkenfeld), chair of a working group (tax bases) of the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG), director of Institute for Applied Material Flow Management (Institut für angewandtes Stoffstrommanagement, IfaS) and president of the Association of Social Sciences (Sozialwissenschaftliche Gesellschaft 1950 e.V.). His academic work was widely published on business economics, (land) taxation, land use issues, and environmental economics.
