Marta Valaskova
Marta Valášková, C.Sc., D.Sc. is an academic employee for science and research at Nanotechnology Centre VSB – Technical University of Ostrava in Czech Republic. She completed her M.Sc. at Charles University in Prague in 1980, at the Faculty of Science. In the same year she also got the degree of RNDr (Rerum Naturalium Doctoris) at Charles University in the field of Mineralogy and Crystallography at the Faculty of Science. In the year 1990 she completed her C.Sc. (Candidatus Scientiarum, which is an equivalent degree to Ph.D.) at the Faculty of Science in Prague in the field of Mineralogy and Crystallography. She defended at Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic in Prague degree of Doctor of Geological and Geophysical Sciences (D.Sc.) in 2011. Her research areas cover X-ray powder diffraction structure analysis of silicates and focused on phyllosilicates (clay minerals). At present time, its research activities are concerned mainly on preparation and structural characterization of phyllosilicates for their use as clays nanofillers to clay/polymer nanocomposites, phyllosilicate substrates of inorganic and organic compounds and, mixtures of clay minerals precursors into ceramic components in nanocomposites. She is an author and coauthor of 45 original scientific papers and other peer-viewed journals and conference proceedings.
