Rajamanickam Rajkumar is an international frontline scientist in cervical cancer and HPV prevention with a Ph.D. in Cancer Epidemiology. He is currently a professor at Meenakshi Medical College, Kanchipuram, India, and a Ph.D. mentor for several medical universities. He was the principal investigator of one of the largest cervical cancer screening programs in India, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC/WHO) funded by The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. Rajkumar conducted the first study in South India on the community prevalence of HPV. He trained in colposcopy and cancer epidemiology in France, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. He was a consultant to The Ohio State University Medical Center for cervical cancer screening. He is an honorary member of the Society for Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology of Singapore (SCCPS), Singapore.

Although it is preventable and curable, cervical cancer is the fourth most common form of cancer among women worldwide. As such, the World Health Organization adopted a Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative, which aims to eliminate cervical cancer by 2030. This book discusses plans, programs, strategies, solutions, research, and revolutions necessary to achieve this goal. Chapters cover such topics as epidemiology, HPV vaccination, screening and treatment, and prevention and control.
